Legendary Australian batter and skipper Ricky Ponting has ruled out the possibility of taking on the role of England men's white-ball coach following Matthew Mott's departure. Ponting pointed out that international coaching jobs are not suitable for him at this stage in his life.

Mott's exit left a prestigious vacancy in world cricket, and several former players and top coaches, including Ponting, have been speculated as potential successors. However, Ponting, who previously declined an approach to coach England's Test side, reiterated that he is currently overwhelmed with commitments.

In an interview on The ICC Review, Ponting explained his decision, saying, "No, I would not ever consider doing that actually. International jobs for me right now are not where my life is at because there's just so much more time taken up with an international job." He highlighted other obligations such as TV work and family time as contributing factors.

Ponting added that coaching England, especially for an Australian, presents unique challenges. However, he feels his current schedule is already packed. England's next Test series against Sri Lanka is set to start on August 21.
