In a gripping semi-final match at the Paris Olympics, the Indian Men's Hockey Team fell 2-3 to Germany, missing out on a chance to advance to the finals. Harmanpreet Singh opened the scoring in the 7th minute, but Germany's Gonzalo Peillat, Christopher Ruehr, and Marco Miltkau each found the net to secure Germany's victory.

India started strong, dominating early with consecutive penalty corners. However, Germany's defense stood firm, blocking multiple drag-flick attempts by captain Harmanpreet Singh. India persisted, and their relentless pressure paid off with Harmanpreet converting a penalty corner for the early lead. Despite this, Germany adapted to a possession-based game, balancing the playing field by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter saw Germany leveling the match with a penalty corner goal by Peillat. India's aggressive attacks remained unrelenting, but a penalty stroke by Ruehr pushed Germany ahead. India fought back in the third quarter, with Sukhjeet Singh tying the game at 2-2. The final quarter was fiercely competitive, but Germany's Marco Miltkau scored the decisive goal, leading his team to a 3-2 win. India will now compete for the bronze medal against Spain.
