Former Socceroos Goalkeeper Mitch Langerak Returns to Melbourne Victory

Mitch Langerak, the former Australian goalkeeper, is set to rejoin Melbourne Victory on an 18-month contract in January, according to an announcement by the A-League club on Saturday. Langerak, who currently plays for Japanese side Nagoya Grampus, started his professional career with Melbourne Victory before moving to Germany's Borussia Dortmund in 2010.

"Mitch's pedigree speaks for itself," said Patrick Kisnorbo, Victory's coach. "He has played at the highest level in Europe and has been a consistent performer in Japan. His character, professionalism, and attitude to football serve as an example for all footballers, and we look forward to his arrival in January."

The 35-year-old was part of the Socceroos squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and served as Mat Ryan's deputy during Australia's 2015 Asian Cup victory on home soil. Langerak will move to Melbourne following the conclusion of the season in Japan.
