Indian golfer Shubhankar Sharma demonstrated his prowess with two eagles in his second round at the Olympics, but four bogeys marred his score, resulting in a 2-under 69, placing him 25th on Friday.
His first-round 70 combined with today's performance puts him 3-under for the two days at Le Golf National near Paris. Despite the challenges, including three bogeys between the seventh and ninth holes, Sharma remains hopeful with two rounds left. ''I did go all out, but there are times when putts don't fall,'' he remarked.
Meanwhile, other notable players include defending champion Xander Schauffele, who is in shared first place at 11-under alongside Hideki Matsuyama and others. Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood, enjoying the Olympic atmosphere, shot a remarkable 64. Three players tied for fifth place, and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is T-10.
