Former India shuttler Parupalli Kashyap on Thursday dubbed two-time medallist PV Sindhu an 'underdog' at the Paris Olympics but noted that her name still carries significant weight, making opponents wary of her big-match credentials.

Despite a knee injury earlier this year, Sindhu aims for a historic third Olympic medal. 'It's her third Olympics, and she feels she has an edge even though her ranking or form may not show it,' said Kashyap, an Olympics expert at JioCinema & Sports18.

Kashyap identified Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty as favourites for India's first-ever badminton gold. He highlighted tough competitors, including Chinese and Korean pairs, but believes Satwik and Chirag are up to the challenge. He also called HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen 'dark horses,' recognizing their potential to create upsets in major events.
