Hosts Sri Lanka and Bangladesh cruised into the semifinals of the women's Asia Cup T20 tournament with comfortable victories over Thailand and Malaysia on Wednesday.
In their final group match, Sri Lanka thrashed Thailand by 10 wickets, while Bangladesh hammered Malaysia by 114 runs earlier in the day.
Bangladesh's win was powered by opener Murshida Khatun's 59-ball 80 and skipper Nigar Sultana's 37-ball 62, posting a commanding total of 191 for 2 before restricting Malaysia to 77 for 8 in 20 overs. Thailand struggled to post 93 for 7 against Sri Lanka, who chased down the target with ease, thanks to unbeaten scores from skipper Chamari Athapaththu (49 not out) and Vishmi Gunaratne (39).
India will face Bangladesh, while Sri Lanka will take on Pakistan in the semifinals on Friday.
