West Indies staged a dramatic comeback with the bat during the second Test against England at Nottingham. Former England pacer Stuart Broad remarked that the visitors have a substantial opportunity to win the match and level the series by securing a few early key wickets. Kavem Hodge's historic century and a 175-run partnership with Alick Athanaze, bolstered by a gritty final stand between Joshua Da Silva and Shamar Joseph, helped WI overcome England's massive first-innings total and achieve a substantial lead.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the innings break, Broad emphasized the importance of the situation for WI. 'This is a huge opportunity for the West Indies to get back in this series and win this Test match,' Broad stated. He added that with a few quick dismissals, West Indies could put England under significant pressure.

Broad noted the frustration for England, particularly during the morning session, as their short-ball strategy was countered robustly by WI's lower-order batsmen. Despite this, he pointed out that England would be relieved to end the innings and prepare for their batting, given the favorable pitch conditions.

The second Test began with WI opting to bowl first. England delivered a formidable batting performance led by Ollie Pope's sixth Test century and solid contributions from Ben Duckett and skipper Ben Stokes, culminating in a total of 416. Alzarri Joseph was the standout bowler for WI, with support from Jayden Seales, Kavem Hodge, Kevin Sinclair, and Shamar Joseph.

WI, initially struggling at 84/3, saw a remarkable turnaround through the counter-attacking partnership between Athanaze and Hodge, followed by an impressive last-wicket stand between Da Silva and Shamar Joseph. This effort allowed WI to surpass England's score, reaching 457 and gaining a 41-run lead. Chris Woakes was England's top bowler, supported by Atkinson, Bashir, Stokes, and Wood.

England will now aim to overcome the minor deficit in their second innings and set a formidable target to ensure a series victory.
