Former England pacer James Anderson has opened up about his new role as the team's bowling mentor during the ongoing home series against the West Indies, stating that he thoroughly enjoys the job and finds it relaxing. Anderson stepped into the mentor role after retiring from international cricket following the first Test at Lord's. He now aims to nurture new talents ahead of the 2025-26 Ashes series in Australia.

During an innings break interview with Sky Sports, Anderson remarked on his recent experiences. 'The past few days have been interesting, particularly managing the emotions of retiring at Lord's and then jumping into a new job. But I've loved every moment,' said the former right-arm seamer, who concluded his Test career as the third-highest wicket-taker with 704 wickets. England dominated the first Test, winning by an innings and 114 runs, and his contributions were celebrated by cricket legends worldwide.

In the ongoing second Test, West Indies chose to bowl first. England posted a respectable 416 runs, thanks to Ollie Pope's century and solid half-centuries from Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes. West Indies responded strongly, with notable innings from Alick Athanaze and Kavem Hodge, reaching a total of 457 runs. Chris Woakes emerged as England's top wicket-taker. England now focuses on overcoming a 41-run deficit in their second inning to clinch the series 2-0.
