West Indies all-rounder Kavem Hodge described his encounter with England's Mark Wood as 'brutal' during Day 2 of the second Test at Trent Bridge. The sun-soaked crowd witnessed Wood delivering the fastest over by an English bowler at home since data began recording in 2006.

Known for his exceptional pace, Wood challenged the opposition's batters mercilessly. Hodge, who faced 29 deliveries from Wood, noted that 24 were either short or just short of a good length, bowled at a minimum of 90 mph. Hodge recounted his battle, stating he jokingly told Wood, 'I have a wife and kids at home,' emphasizing the brutality of the encounter.

Despite Wood's formidable pace, he ended his over wicketless and left the field with a hamstring issue. Hodge overcame this challenge to score his first Test hundred, sharing a 175-run partnership with Alick Athanaze. The West Indies concluded the day at 351/5, trailing by 65 runs.
