Tadej Pogacar demonstrated a remarkable climbing prowess in stage 19 of the Tour de France, achieving a triumphant solo victory over a 145 km ride from Embrun to Isola 2000 in the Alps.

Pogacar's aggressive attack distanced him remarkably from his closest rivals, strengthening his firm hold on the yellow jersey. Overcoming the breakaway leader Matteo Jorgenson in the final kilometers, Pogacar now holds a lead of over five minutes over Jonas Vingegaard, and more than seven minutes over Remco Evenepoel, with just two stages remaining.

In a post-race comment, Pogacar shared, "We executed our plan to perfection from the training camp. I felt a bit drained in the last 2 km but pushed through when I saw Mathieu slowing down." Pogacar's victory extends his stage win tally to four this year, as he crossed the finish line solo, leaving Jorgensen in second, and Yates in third. The penultimate stage awaits, another mountain challenge from Nice to Col de la Couillole, before the final time trial on Sunday.
