West Indies spinner Kevin Sinclair disclosed the background behind his trademark wicket celebration following a resilient comeback by the Caribbean side to restrict England in the second Test on Day 1. The West Indies struggled against England's dominant displays for most of the day at Trent Bridge.

Recalled in the absence of Gudakesh Motie, Sinclair seized the opportunity, emerging as a standout bowler for the visitors. The relatively inexperienced off-spinner claimed two crucial wickets, including that of the high-flying Harry Brook.

Brook's dismissal caught the eye of spectators, as Sinclair celebrated with his signature acrobatic display. This now-familiar celebration has been a staple of the 24-year-old's performances, dating back to the World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe and his Test debut against Australia.

"That's my trademark celebration from where I come from. Whenever I get a wicket, I perform it for my community. It started at the tender age of eight, practising repeatedly in the back garden. I've perfected it over the years," said Sinclair. Despite the West Indies' later efforts, England put on a formidable show. Contributions from Ollie Pope, who scored 121, and Ben Duckett's rapid 71 off 59 deliveries, led England to 416.

Pope benefited from several dropped catches during his innings, allowing him to extend his time at the crease. "I'm happy with how I batted, and a couple of dropped chances certainly helped," Pope acknowledged. "Cricket has its ups and downs. Though luck wasn't on my side during my County stint, it eventually balanced out," he added.
