Suryakumar Yadav has been named captain of the Indian T20 team for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka. ODI skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will join the team for the 50-over matches. Shubman Gill will serve as vice-captain in both formats.
The series marks the beginning of Gautam Gambhir's tenure as the new head coach. Meanwhile, Riyan Parag and Harshit Rana make their debut in the ODI squad.
Ravindra Jadeja, who recently retired from T20Is, will not feature in the ODI lineup. Lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been rested. The T20 matches are scheduled for July 27, 28, and 30 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, while the ODIs will take place on August 2, 4, and 7 in Colombo.
