Indian defender Hardik Bhatt is set to make a return to Mumbai City FC for the upcoming Indian Super League season after being signed on a one-year contract, the club announced on Wednesday.

Bhatt, 27, had previously played for the ISL side on loan during the 2022-23 season, a stint during which the team clinched the league shield. His early career saw him debut with ARA Football Club in Ahmedabad in 2018.

Having played for Bengaluru United, Hyderya Sports FC, and Rajasthan United, Bhatt's career has seen him feature in 47 competitive domestic matches with two goals to his name. Bhatt expressed his excitement to return, saying, 'The club holds a special place in my heart, and I am honoured to wear the jersey again.'

Mumbai City head coach Petr Kratky welcomed Bhatt's return, emphasizing his commitment to improving his game and contributing to the team's success.
