Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen, set for his debut Olympics in Paris, has received a fair draw according to his coach Vimal Kumar, who expects the young athlete to perform freely due to his 'underdog' status and recent technical advancements.

Ranked World No. 19, Sen faces stiff competition from familiar adversaries including Jonatan Christie and Kevin Cordon in Group L. Despite past close matches, Kumar remains optimistic about Sen's chances.

Vimal emphasized that recent training has focused on front-court alertness, finishing stages, and increased intensity with the help of two-time Olympic silver-medallist Yoo Yong-Sung. Sen's final preparations include sparring with other Olympic-bound athletes as he aims to make history as the first Indian male shuttler to win an Olympic medal.
