Thomas Müller, the German forward, has announced his retirement from international soccer after a distinguished 14-year career. The 34-year-old Bayern Munich striker represented Germany 131 times, scoring 45 goals and lifting the 2014 World Cup.

"It always made me very proud to play for my country. We celebrated together and sometimes shed a tear together," Müller said in a heartfelt YouTube video. He expressed his gratitude towards fans and teammates for their unwavering support throughout his career.

Müller's final appearance came as a substitute in Germany's quarterfinal defeat to Spain at Euro 2024. Fellow veteran Tony Kroos also retired after the same tournament, leaving Germany without two of its most seasoned players moving forward.
