A fire broke out in a storage area for construction materials near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai, early Saturday. Officials confirmed no injuries were recorded.
The incident occurred at a worksite managed by the Railway Land Development Authority, close to platform 18's Kalyan end, amid ongoing development for a new Divisional Railway Manager's office. This is part of the CSTM's transformation into a World Class Station.
Swift action by the Fire Brigade brought the flames under control. Cooling operations are still in progress to avert any chances of re-ignition, according to the Central Railway spokesperson.
