An Indian climber and a Nepalese mountain guide experienced a dangerous encounter with a falling ice block on Mt Everest on Tuesday morning. The incident happened as they were advancing from the Base Camp to Camp II.

Nimish Kumar Singh, 40, from India, and Pemba Tenduk Sherpa, 44, a seasoned Nepalese guide, were the individuals involved in the accident. Official reports mention both men fell victim to the ice serac shortly after the climbing season opened.

Fortunately, a swift rescue operation led by Seven Summit Treks staff brought the injured climbers down from the mountain. They were quickly flown to Kathmandu and are currently receiving medical treatment at Hams Hospital. Officials confirm that both are out of danger.
