A devastating fire broke out on Tuesday evening in the shanties of Kolkata's Kalikapur area, leaving several homeless and impacting nearby structures, according to fire officials.
At around 5:15 PM, the blaze erupted, prompting the deployment of four fire tenders that worked diligently to control the flames. Despite their efforts, the fire spread, partially damaging adjacent buildings.
The fire started in a hut within the Survey Park police station area, with the cause still under investigation. Local police teams remained on-site to assist, as fire authorities successfully contained the blaze.
