Cyclone Dana Hits Land, Weakens into Cyclonic Storm
Severe cyclonic storm Dana made landfall, taking over eight hours to move into the land. Initially striking with 110 kmph wind speeds, it weakened into a cyclonic storm. Lying centered near Dhamra and Bhadrak, the storm is moving northwestward and expected to downgrade further into a deep depression.

Cyclone Dana completed its landfall procedure by Friday morning, taking more than eight hours to penetrate inland, as confirmed by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The severe storm commenced landfall at 12.05 pm Thursday, with the entry process concluding at approximately 8.30 am on Friday.
Initially hitting the region with wind speeds of 110 kmph, Dana has since decreased in intensity, evolving into a cyclonic storm. It is now centered roughly 50 km north-northwest of Dhamra and 30 km northeast of Bhadrak, with sustained winds reaching 80-90 kmph, gusting up to 100 kmph. The system is expected to weaken into a deep depression over the next six hours as it moves northwest, under the constant surveillance of the Doppler weather radar at Paradip.
