In light of the looming cyclone threat, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared a series of protective measures on Tuesday.
Educational institutions across nine districts will close from Wednesday to October 26 to mitigate risks. NDRF and SDRF teams have been strategically deployed, with integrated control rooms operating around the clock to respond swiftly to any emergencies.
The cyclone is predicted to potentially strengthen and impact the coasts of north Odisha and southern West Bengal between Puri and Sagar Island, with wind speeds possibly exceeding 120 km/h, according to the India Meteorological Department.
