Authorities have arranged over 800 cyclone shelters, preparing to evacuate thousands from vulnerable areas, ensuring necessary provisions are ready for those affected.
Minister Suresh Pujari revealed that 250 cyclone relief centers have been examined, with steps taken for complete evacuation to achieve 'zero casualty'. Additional temporary shelters, including schools and colleges, are ready. Pregnant women from risk areas are being relocated to hospitals to prevent complications during the impending cyclone.
Odisha has enforced school closures and cancelled staff leave as precautionary measures, while ODRAF and fire services are deployed to affected zones. With tourists advised to vacate Puri, health services are ensuring essential medicines are available, and efforts to prevent waterborne diseases are prioritized.
