A tragic accident occurred in the Nanta area on Monday as a school bus carrying 30 students fell into a roadside ditch, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old boy and injuries to several others. The bus was from Satyam Public School in Subash Nagar, according to local police.

The incident happened around 1.30 pm near the Trenching Ground. Naval Kishore, SHO of Nanta police station, reported that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and plunge into a six-foot-deep ditch. Emergency services swiftly arrived to manage the rescue operation, freeing the children by breaking the bus windows.

After being rushed to MBS Hospital, one student, Lokesh Bairwa, succumbed to his injuries. Bairwa resided in the Kunhadi area of Kota city. Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota-Bundi MP Om Birla expressed condolences to the victim's family and visited the hospital to ensure proper care for the injured. A case of negligent driving will be filed against the driver following a preliminary investigation.
