The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain across various parts of Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in Puducherry, predicting that the downpours will persist until October 14.
Isolated areas within districts including Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, and Nilgiris, among others, are expected to bear the brunt of the heavy rainfall as weather conditions intensify.
A fresh cyclonic circulation is anticipated to emerge over the central region of the South Bay of Bengal on October 12, paving the way for widespread rain across affected regions, the Centre added.
