A fatal school bus fire in Bangkok has resulted in the deaths of 23 individuals, according to authorities. The bus, transporting more than 40 students and teachers on a field trip, caught fire on the outskirts of the city.

Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit confirmed that 16 students and three teachers were hospitalized. Social media images showed thick smoke and flames engulfing the bus.

Investigations reveal that a spark from a tyre ignited the gas cylinder powering the vehicle, leading to the explosion. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed her condolences, stating that the affected families have her deepest sympathies.
