A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Antofagasta, Chile, on Tuesday, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The tremor was recorded at a depth of 51 kilometers (31.69 miles), providing significant but not severe shaking.
EMSC initially reported the magnitude as 6.1 before correcting it to 5.5.
