A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 struck off the coastal city of Port McNeill in British Columbia, Canada, on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicenter of the quake was located in the Pacific Ocean, at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) below the seabed, the USGS reported.
Despite the intensity of the tremor, the U.S. National Tsunami Center did not issue a tsunami warning.
