Three individuals were hospitalized following a chlorine gas leak from a cylinder near Sukhatal Pump House in Nainital, Uttarakhand, officials reported on Thursday.
A coordinated response involving the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), local police, administration, and medical personnel led to the evacuation of affected residents, they stated.
The leak originated from a 50 kg chlorine gas cylinder located at the Jal Sansthan, as disclosed by Nainital District Magistrate Vandana Singh. Around 100 people living in 25-30 nearby homes were evacuated due to the incident.
