Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, has reported substantial advancements in connectivity and essential services in the state's border regions. Prominent initiatives such as the Vibrant Village Programme, Operation Sadbhavna, and Project Samaritan have played a vital role in this progress.
At a recent conclave on border area development, Khandu stated that synchronized planning between defense forces, central armed police forces, and state representatives underscores a strong commitment to national security and rural development. The focus has resulted in the construction of 1,022 km of roads to connect 124 habitations, fostering both security and prosperity for border communities.
Khandu also highlighted the potential of sustainable tourism to boost the rural economy. Collaborating with the Indian Army, the state aims to ensure that local communities benefit from tourism growth, with an emphasis on sustainable development leading to new income sources. The conclave, attended by key figures like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, seeks to enhance collaboration for the comprehensive development of India's border areas.
