The ceiling plaster of a building in Thane fell on Friday evening, causing no injuries, according to a civic official.

The 30-year-old, 5-storeyed building in Kisan Nagar, Wagle Estate, has been declared dangerous by the Thane Municipal Corporation under the 'C2B' category, regional disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi told PTI.

''The incident occurred at 5:45pm on the fifth-floor passage. Fire brigade and RDMC personnel quickly cleared the debris. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The building's columns have cracked, necessitating structural repairs,'' said Tadvi.

He added that the building houses five commercial units on the ground floor and 25 rooms on the upper floors.
