The Centre has rapidly extended necessary and timely assistance to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to combat the devastating floods, a senior Union home ministry official stated on Friday. An inter-ministerial central team is scheduled to visit the affected regions shortly to assess the damage.

Additional Secretary Sanjeev Kumar Jindal announced that 26 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, eight Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters, three naval helicopters, and one Dornier aircraft have been deployed in Andhra Pradesh for rescue and relief operations. In Telangana, seven NDRF teams and two IAF helicopters have also been mobilized.

Jindal emphasized that the central government is committed to supporting the state governments' relief and rescue efforts. The inter-ministerial team will provide an on-the-spot assessment of flood damage and recommend further financial assistance from the National Disaster Response Fund.
