Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra assumed leadership of the Indian Air Force's Western Air Command, a strategic unit safeguarding the airspace over the volatile Ladakh sector and northern India.

With an impressive 3000 hours of flying experience, Mishra, a seasoned fighter combat leader and test pilot, takes over the command from Air Marshal Pankaj Mohan Sinha, who retired following a distinguished 39-year career.

Mishra's extensive background includes critical positions such as Commanding Officer of a fighter squadron, Director of Operational Planning, and Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, supplemented by prestigious education at institutions such as the National Defence Academy and Royal College of Defence Studies.
