Authorities issued the first flood warning in Bhadrachalam, with the Godavari river swelling to 43 ft. Officials are proactively relocating residents from vulnerable areas to relief camps.
Efforts to restore utilities and sanitation in flood-hit areas are being intensified. Political reactions have emerged over alleged encroachments and government responses. Additionally, further heavy rainfall has been forecasted for parts of the state. At least 16 people have died due to the downpours since August 31.
