Through a call attention notice, Singh criticized local government officials for their apathetic approach and non-compliance with ministerial directives.

Local Government Minister Balkar Singh responded by affirming the city's significance and outlining the state's efforts to improve civic amenities under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's leadership.
