Karnataka Forest and Environment Minister B Eshwar Khandre has highlighted the urgent need for solid waste regeneration to counter the severe environmental threats. Addressing the 5th Re-Commerce Expo, he stressed on the necessity of prioritizing the reprocessing of e-waste, batteries, and electronic goods for economic viability and environmental friendliness.
Khandre pointed out recent incidents of natural disasters in Shirur and Wayanad as dire warnings, urging vigilance and proactive planning to prevent such tragedies. He underscored the rampant pollution caused by electronic waste and industrial activities, advocating for a balanced approach between development and ecological preservation.
Venkatreddy D Patil, CEO of Urdhva Management and organizer of the event, echoed Khandre's sentiments, emphasizing the need to increase partnerships for effective waste processing. He highlighted opportunities for the younger generation to engage in sustainable practices without compromising the environment.
