Heavy rains have triggered landslides, blocking the Badrinath national highway at multiple points in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.
The affected areas include Pagalnala, Patalganga, and Nandaprayag, where efforts are ongoing to reopen the highway, according to the district disaster management centre.
Additionally, seven shops in the Simli market have suffered damage due to landslide debris. Other key roads such as the Jyotirmath-Malari road and the Karnaprayag-Gwaldam national highway, vital for connectivity to the India-China border, have also been obstructed by landslides.
