Heavy rains continued to lash many parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad, on Sunday, prompting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to hold an emergency review with ministers, officials, and elected members.

A woman died and three others were feared washed away in separate rain-related incidents in Mahabubabad and Khammam districts on Sunday. Due to heavy rains and waterlogging over tracks at several locations on the South Central Railway (SCR) network, as many as 99 trains were canceled, four trains were partially canceled, and 54 trains were diverted, an SCR official said.

In view of the incessant rains, Reddy reviewed the situation in the affected areas and spoke with ministers over the phone to inquire about ongoing relief operations. Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that following Home Minister Amit Shah's orders, nine National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been dispatched to Telangana.

NDRF teams are already in action following central government directives. Additional rescue efforts are ongoing for those feared washed away in collapsed structures and stranded vehicles. The Met Centre issued a red warning for very heavy to extremely heavy rain in various districts until September 2. Reddy ordered district officials to conduct field visits and take immediate relief measures in flood-hit areas.

Authorities have declared a holiday for all schools in Hyderabad district due to forecasted rains. The chief minister instructed all officials to cancel their leaves and join relief operations immediately. Citizens are advised to stay indoors and report emergencies promptly.
