Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called for a collaborative approach to solve the city's worsening pollution problem. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Rai urged the central government to allow artificial rain experiments during winter when air quality plummets.
Rai pointed out that despite several initiatives by the Delhi government, pollution levels spike in November. He cited a proposal by IIT-Kanpur for cloud seeding to induce rain, which requires multiple permissions from various central and state agencies.
The minister emphasized the importance of teamwork and central support in addressing the issue, while also mentioning steps like procuring electric buses and increasing green cover undertaken by the Delhi government. Rai also welcomed suggestions from other political parties to reduce pollution.
