The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has signed a groundbreaking tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Survey of India (SoI) to undertake drone surveys aimed at combating land encroachments in the national capital.
This initiative is designed to resolve the ambiguity surrounding land status belonging to various government agencies, protect such land from encroachers, and prevent unauthorized constructions. During a recent meeting, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena reviewed the results of a trial over 50 square kilometers, which showcased the potential of high-resolution drone imagery.
The survey's high-precision data will enable officers to visualize and monitor infrastructure details like drains, roads, and illegal constructions. With enhanced data accuracy and real-time monitoring, authorities can promptly address encroachments, ensuring planned development and resource optimization. The initiative will also facilitate better integration and utilization of data across governmental departments, promoting effective governance and urban planning.
