Cabinet Approves Vigyan Dhara Scheme
The Union Cabinet has approved the Vigyan Dhara scheme, which consolidates three existing science and technology initiatives. With an outlay of Rs 10,579 crore from 2021-22 to 2025-26, it focuses on institutional and human capacity building, research and development, and technology innovation and deployment.

The Union Cabinet has given its nod to the Vigyan Dhara scheme, a unified central sector initiative consolidating three existing science and technology programs.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the scheme's budget of Rs 10,579 crore for the period of the 15th Finance Commission, from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
The Vigyan Dhara scheme aims at enhancing institutional and human capacity, fostering research and development, and promoting technology innovation and deployment across the country.
