Heavy rains in Uttarakhand on Tuesday evening caused significant havoc, resulting in the tragic death of a motorcyclist and another person going missing in a separate incident. The State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) reported that the 29-year-old Manish Sati was swept away by a swollen stream in the Kotabagh area of Nainital district. Municipal Corporation and Fire Department teams have been working tirelessly to drain the accumulated water.

Additional damage was reported in more than half a dozen villages in the Dhuttu area of Tehri district. A house was damaged, and some livestock perished, according to SEOC reports. Rainfall measurements over the past 24 hours include 110 mm in Kaladhungi, 96 mm in Chorgalia, 86 mm in Haldwani, 108 mm in Karnaprayag, 70 mm in Gadarpur, and 90 mm in Tejam, illustrating the intensity and widespread nature of the downpour.
