Grand Sunergy, a top R&D and manufacturing company in the photovoltaic sector, has achieved a major milestone by successfully energizing the booster station for the CGN Yantai Zhaoyuan 400MW offshore photovoltaic project. This development underscores the operational readiness of China's inaugural large-scale, pile-fixed deep-water offshore photovoltaic initiative, highlighting the firm's pivotal contribution to solar technology progress.
Located in Laizhou Bay, Yantai's Zhaoyuan City, the project spans 6.44 square kilometers and incorporates 121 photovoltaic sub-arrays. The installation boasts an AC-side rated capacity of 400MW and a DC-side designed capacity of 539.3274MW, exclusively utilizing Grand Sunergy's Seapower Series 210-132 double-sided, double-glass high-efficiency HJT solar modules.
Unlike onshore photovoltaics, offshore solar projects face harsher conditions such as high humidity, salt spray, and UV radiation. To tackle these challenges, Grand Sunergy developed specialized modules with enhanced resistance, including 210mm large-size HJT cells, UV-resistant film, and waterproof junction boxes.
