Relentless Search Resumes in Wayanad's Landslide Aftermath
The search operations to find missing individuals in Wayanad, Kerala, following the devastating landslides on July 30 will resume on Sunday. The search operations aiming to locate those still missing after the deadly July 30 landslides in Wayanad district, Kerala, will restart on Sunday.
Survivors and relatives of those affected will join local representatives and volunteers in the renewed efforts. The operations, paused on Friday due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, will resume at 8 am on Sunday, the state cabinet sub-committee confirmed. Registration for participants closes at 9 am on Sunday.
Modi assured that the central government will do everything possible for relief and rehabilitation while surveying the disaster-hit areas. The landslides have claimed 229 lives and left over 130 missing, according to state officials. Areas downstream of Chaliyar river will be combed by the Army.
