India's National Security Council Secretariat, in collaboration with the National Forensics Science University, successfully hosted the Second Edition of the Colombo Security Conclave Seminar on "Exchange of Information on Legislations, Cyber Policies, and Incident Mitigation" along with a Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Cyber Security. The events took place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on July 30-31, 2024.

The seminar witnessed active participation from delegates representing Member and Observer States of the Colombo Security Conclave, including Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, and the Colombo Security Conclave Secretariat.

Cyber security, protection of critical infrastructure, and technology are significant pillars under the Colombo Security Conclave. The seminar aimed to foster a more collaborative and unified approach to protecting critical infrastructure, addressing cybercrime, improving incident response and mitigation, and exploring emerging technologies. It marked the initiation of exchanges on cyber security policies and strategies among member and observer states, including a deep dive into incident response, mitigation techniques, digital forensics investigations, and cyber threat intelligence sharing.

Discussions at the seminar focused on various technological advancements, research challenges, and innovative approaches to enhance the security and resilience of cyberspace. Participants shared their experiences in managing cyber security threats and collaboratively explored solutions to address specific challenges in the cyber security landscape.

The seminar concluded with a consensus on identifying key deliverables and developing a more pragmatic approach to strengthening cyber security measures. This effort aims to bolster regional security and safeguard shared interests under the Colombo Security Conclave.
