Taiwan proudly announces groundbreaking initiatives and advancements in sustainability and circular economy, reinforcing its global position as a leader in the field. Through innovative technology and circular economy principles, Taiwan is making significant strides in reducing carbon footprints, minimizing waste, maximizing resource efficiency, and promoting sustainable development.

The Taiwan Excellence program is at the forefront of recognizing and awarding companies excelling in sustainable manufacturing practices. These companies are integrating energy-efficient processes, waste reduction techniques, and eco-friendly materials into their production lines.

Acer, for example, has launched its first environmentally friendly laptop by adopting a circular strategy for recycling materials. By using post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, ocean-bound plastic (OBP), and recyclable packaging materials, Acer has reduced dependence on virgin materials. The company's Aspire Vero laptop features an OceanGlass touchpad made from 100% OBP, and the laptop chassis incorporates 40% PCR materials, contributing to a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions.

DA.AI Technology is also making significant contributions to sustainability by recycling discarded plastic waste. The company's eco-blanket, made from PET bottles, and solutions for discarded clothes minimize waste and reduce the burden on Earth. Highlights include the development of eco-zippers and eco-buttons made of recycled polyester and the classification of recycled raw material into three grades for various eco-friendly products.

James Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, stated, "Along with TITA, our Go Green initiative aims to highlight Taiwan's potential in the global sustainable green energy industry, contributing to both environmental and economic sustainability goals worldwide." Taiwan aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, setting a global benchmark for industries worldwide.
