Tragic Landslide in Nepal Sweeps Buses Into River, Claims 19 Lives

A deadly landslide in Nepal's Chitwan district has claimed 19 lives, including four Indians, after two buses were swept into the Trishuli River. In a tragic turn of events, a catastrophic landslide struck the Chitwan district of Nepal, sweeping two buses into the swiftly flowing Trishuli River and resulting in the loss of 19 lives, including four Indian nationals.

The incident happened last week along the Narayanghat-Mugling road, affecting 54 passengers, of whom only three managed to swim to safety. The buses were en route from Birgunj to Kathmandu and from Kathmandu to Gaur.

Nepalese authorities, in collaboration with Indian counterparts, are relentlessly continuing search and rescue operations, employing high-quality sonar cameras, powerful magnets, and water drones to deal with the challenging conditions caused by recent monsoon rains.
