Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday visited Amaravati to assess the status of projects in the greenfield capital, which he had championed.

The Amaravati capital city project had been frozen for five years, from 2019 under the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP government. Now, with a change in governance, the capital city project is being revitalized.

For the first time since assuming office for the fourth term, the Chief Minister inspected several construction projects, including residential quarters for officials, legislators, judges, as well as the stalled high court and secretariat.

"I went to take stock of the situation and plan the next steps. We will release a white paper on Amaravati detailing all the developments," said Naidu, during a press conference joined by Municipal Minister P Narayana and senior officials.

The CM noted that, had the Amaravati project continued as scheduled, the road infrastructure would have been completed by now. He also highlighted that nearly 55,000 acres of land are available in Amaravati, expressing gratitude to the farmers for dedicating their lands to the project.
