A massive fire erupted on the third floor of a shopping mall in southern Kolkata on Friday, prompting a swift evacuation, authorities confirmed.
Ten fire tenders have been employed to combat the flames at the Kasba mall, which ignited around 12.15 pm, according to officials. "As of now, there is no report of any injury. Firefighting operations are underway. Some firefighters have entered the building wearing oxygen masks," an official told PTI.
Dense smoke engulfed the area, leading the Kolkata Traffic Police to regulate traffic movement in front of the mall, said a senior officer.
