Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has proclaimed that the Congress party is poised to retain power, with him serving as Chief Minister for another five years. This assertion comes in response to the BJP's accusations of disrespect towards MLAs and MLCs due to Congress appointees leading key assurance committees.
The BJP, spearheaded by Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka, claims that the Congress is breaching legislative privileges and creating a challenging governance framework for future administrations. In response, Siddaramaiah emphasized recent Congress electoral victories and defended appointing party workers to these committees, claiming historical precedent.
Additionally, the BJP submitted a memorandum to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, urging the dissolution of these allegedly 'unconstitutional' committees. Despite BJP's agitation, Siddaramaiah reassured that legislators' rights remain intact while reiterating Congress's governance style, common in previous administrations.
