This statement was made during his visit to Johannesburg, where he participated in the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
In discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Jaishankar emphasized the efforts both nations have made to protect the G20 as a key institution for international cooperation. Wei echoed these sentiments, stressing the importance of mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also focused on the positive developments in India-China relations following engagements between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year. Both sides committed to restoring relations, including managing border issues and planning future diplomatic milestones.
