Union Minister Chirag Paswan, a prominent ally of the NDA government, urged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to address the ongoing protests by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) candidates. The students are demanding the cancellation of the Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, held in December.
Paswan praised the state government's initiative to engage in dialogue with the students, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution without political interference. He condemned the police's use of force during the demonstrations in Patna and called for restraint. Paswan stressed the importance of addressing the students' demands constructively.
The State Administration filed an FIR against 600-700 individuals, including Jan Suraaj Chief Prashant Kishore, for unauthorized gatherings that disrupted public order. Despite being denied permission, a crowd assembled, leading to clashes with police forces who resorted to water cannons to disperse them.
